Laura Parkinson

I am a management consultant specialising in business strategy and development. I have worked in this area for over 25 years including nearly 10 years with DLA Piper, during which time I have advised numerous firms on both public and private sector tenders and pitches. I have an exceptional track record of achieving success in highly competitive, complex legal procurement exercises.

I have completed the CMI Level 7 Advanced Management Certificate in Strategic Leadership and Management and have run my own business for the last 15 years. As a result of my deep knowledge of legal markets, I am able to bring unrivalled depth of commercial understanding to bear for my clients.

My strength lies in evaluating legal procurement invitations to fully understand both the needs and buying drivers of the purchaser and the methodology and weighting of the tender, as well as establishing the ability of the law firm to supply the services and meet the requirements specified. I am well versed in public sector tendering regulations and processes, guiding clients seamlessly through highly regulated and complex procurement regimes.

My project management skills enable me to work closely and collaboratively with clients to ensure a strategic approach is taken and to bring all relevant parties to the table to complete the exercise on time and to best effect. I am particularly adept at drafting responses for clients which answer the needs of the purchaser and are tailored to their culture, ethos, values and needs, as well as conveying the selling points of the firm and competing effectively with other potential bidders.

Laura works with international, national, regional and local law firms across the UK with strategic planning including in relation to entering new markets, as well as a range of marketing and business development.
